Job Overview

Komatsu is embarking on a global initiative to transform our digital experiences. This role will own and scale the product data foundation that powers our digital commerce ecosystem. This role is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving product data -- from complex multi-source ingestion through enrichment and publication across storefronts, dealer tools, and downstream platforms. This role will sit at the intersection of product management, data architecture, and technical development, translating complex data and catalog challenges into scalable, high-quality solutions that directly impact conversion, fitment confidence, and customer experience. This is a hands-on role designed for someone who thrives in highly technical environments and can lead through influence, clarity, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Job Responsibilities

Drive the Product Data Strategy, Partnership and Business Engagement
• Drive and govern the global product taxonomy, category structures, and technical attribute standards within our PIM ecosystem (Informative P360 or equivalent).
• Design and evolve the PIM data model, including inheritance and multi-level taxonomies
• Establish and enforce Golden Record standards, schemas, and validation rules to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all SKUs.
• Lead decision making and alignment on schema changes, attribute definitions, and data governance standards.
• Partner with our corporate headquarters in Japan and OEM/business teams to collaboratively define the PIM roadmap, and onboard new products and capabilities within PIM
• Proactively engage with business teams to understand and prioritize stakeholder challenges and needs to identify opportunities which can be solved leveraging PIM's native capabilities
• Organize and facilitate PIM planning discussions between product marketing, IT and vendors
• Partner with product management teams to ensure the PIM roadmap is aligned with critical programs; web, commerce, subscriptions, academy, etc.
• Willingess to work flexible hours to accommodate meetings as needed with key stakeholders in Japan and/or alternate time zones.

Drive End-to-End Data Orchestration
• Lead the technical strategy for OEM data onboarding, including mapping logic, transformations, and exception handling.
• Partner with vendors, affiliates and development teams to translate complex data requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog priorities.
• Collaborate with Commerce, Web, and DAM teams to ensure seamless data flow across the ecosystem.
• Oversee, maintain and troubleshoot PIM integrations with DAM, ERP, and eCommerce platforms

Product Data Quality & Enrichment
• Partner and proactively engage business teams to define and drive product enrichment, ensure data quality and prioritization of enrichment activities
• Apply AI and rule-based approaches to automated categorization, attribute mapping, and schema validation.
• Use AI-driven auditing to detect data gaps, inconsistencies, duplicates, and anomalies, routing exceptions through human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Leverage LLMs to generate SEO-optimized product descriptions and technical summaries at scale, with governance and quality controls.
• Continuously refine AI outputs through feedback loops, confidence scoring, and impact measurement.

Ensure Cross-Reference & Related-Part Integrity
• Build and maintain a related-part relationship graph (substitutes, accessories, kits, required/compatible items).
• Validate consistency between technical attributes and fitment / compatibility logic.
• Ensure all enrichments and relationships are traceable to source with audit history and confidence indicators.

Platform Operations
• Serve as subject matter expert for leveraging PIM
• Align platforms with enterprise technology direction
• Evaluate and implement digital capabilities
• Ensure platform scalability and stability
