04085 GCMG Pediatric Intensivist: 1000 Blythe - Pediatrics: Critical Care/Intensivist Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 13 hour shifts with day/night/weekend/holiday rotation Pay Range: $54.90 - $82.35 Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital is seeking Pediatric Intensive Care APPs in Charlotte, NC to provide coverage in a 24-bed PICU. Patients are typically intubated and mechanically ventilated and/or have hemodynamic instability. The role focuses on first line critical care management,  pediatric code blue responses and PICU consulting responsibilities. The PICU APP will have opportunities to perform invasive procedures and manage the hemodynamics of critically ill patients, including ventilator settings, ECMO, vasopressors, and complex clinical cases. The schedule includes a mixed rotation of weekday, night, swing, holiday, and weekend shifts, with more than 20% of FTE involving weekend and/or night coverage. Essential Functions  - Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments. - Recordsfindings of examinations,assessmentsand plan of care. - Performs a wide range of surgical and/or medical procedures. - Writesappropriate prescriptionsand administers medications. - Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations. - Determinestreatment plan for patient. - Documentsall patient encounters, recordsobservations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manneron the patient's medical record. - Demonstratesappropriate criticalthinking, interpersonal skillsand the ability to prioritize and concentrate. - Acts as a patient advocate for the population served. - Attends,participatesand contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested. Physical Requirements  Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.  Education, Experience and Certifications.  Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required.BLS required per policy guidelineswith expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.   Nurse Practitioner  Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP, AGACNP, PNP-AC or NNP board certification preferred according to population served.   Physician Assistant  Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant programrequired;Master's Degreepreferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
