Physicist Resident - Radiation Oncology (Duarte, CA)

This position involves participation in the medical physics residency program in radiation therapy physics, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). The residency provides structured training and progress assessment in all aspects of medical physics. Responsibilities include conducting clinical physics and dosimetry training rotations to support radiotherapy patient care and the institution's quality assurance program.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Gain practical knowledge and performs skills regarding treatment planning, dose computation algorithms, simulation, and treatment techniques. Perform clinical external beam treatment planning and patient specific quality assurance under supervision.

Gain practical knowledge and perform skills regarding special procedures in radiation therapy. Perform clinical treatment planning and quality assurance in special procedures.

Gain practical knowledge and performs skills regarding nuclear instrumentation, radiation monitors, dosimetry equipment. Perform dosimetry system commissioning and dose measurement under supervision.

Your qualifications should include:
  • Graduate from a CAMPEP-accredited MS or PhD graduate program, OR possess a PhD in physics or related discipline and have completed a CAMPEP accredited certificate program, OR possess a PhD in physics or related discipline and have satisfactorily completed courses equivalent to those in a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program, as determined by the CAMPEP Graduate Education Program Review Committee (GEPRC)
  • CAMPEPE Medical Physics graduate
