Job Title: Physician - Palliative Care Campus Lead

Main Line Health is seeking a
Palliative Care Physician to serve as the
Campus Lead at Paoli Hospital, a key leadership role within our established, interdisciplinary palliative care program.
This is an inpatient-based position that combines clinical care with campus-level leadership. The Lead Physician functions as a clinical resource, team leader, and strategic partner, working closely with an experienced team of nurse practitioners, social workers, and hospice partners to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Unlike traditional lead roles, this position emphasizes collaboration, influence, and program advancement-supporting a mature team that practices with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care - Provide high-quality inpatient palliative care consults at Paoli Hospital
- Lead and participate in daily interdisciplinary team huddles, guiding care planning and consult distribution
- Manage an individual patient panel while supporting team-based care delivery
- Facilitate goals-of-care discussions, symptom management, and end-of-life care
- Collaborate with hospitalists, specialists, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes and transitions, including hospice
Leadership & Team Support - Serve as the primary clinical leader and resource for the campus palliative care team
- Act as a liaison between palliative care, hospital-based physicians, and system leadership
- Support team development through mentorship, education, and role modeling (no co-signing of APP notes/orders required)
- Promote efficient workflows, communication, and best practices across the team
- Contribute to a high-functioning, collaborative team culture
Program Development - Partner with system leadership to advance the palliative care program, including future expansion into outpatient and post-acute settings
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, access, and quality of care
- Participate in educational initiatives, including lectures and interdisciplinary learning
Qualifications - MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
- Eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.
- DEA license required.
- Excellent communication skills and a highly collaborative approach.
