Responsibilities

  • Manage both inpatient and outpatient cardiology cases
  • Utilize Epic EMR for efficient patient management
  • Collaborate with a robust team of 9 cardiologists and support staff
  • Engage in both clinical practice and dedicated administrative tasks
  • Perform procedures available on-site including Nuclear Stress tests and Echo
  • Handle referrals from primary care and various specialists
  • Participate in a call rotation of 1:6 with added compensation for extra calls

The University of Kansas Health System is expanding and seeking a General Cardiologist with cardiac MRI expertise to join the dynamic team at our St. Francis Heart & Vascular Center in beautiful Topeka, Kansas. This is an incredible opportunity to become part of a well-established and growing practice while enjoying the resources of a renowned academic health system.

About the Position:
  • Inpatient/Outpatient Mix
  • EMR: Epic
  • Single-Specialty Group of 9 Cardiologists, 8 APC, and support staff (RN, LPN, CAN, MA, secretarial and front office)
  • Clinical practice plus dedicated admin time, no research nor teaching required
  • Procedure Rooms and Testing Available On-Site: Nuclear Stress, Echo, Vascular Sonography, Coumadin Clinic, Cardiac Rehab, Vein Clinic
  • Referrals from Primary Care and Multiple Specialists
  • Schedule: varies, some weekend requirement.
  • Daily Patient Load: Clinical 2-3 patients per hour; Inpatient varies
  • Call: 1:6 day rotation (5 per month), telephone only and with excess call pay
