Summary of Job Duties:
The Physician Assistant (PA), located at UAMS Health Benton/Bryant, assists surgeons with clinics, organizing visits and independently performing clinic procedures or visits and acts as first assist in the operating room; performs rounds on post-operative patients daily and may be on call, as needed.
The PA works autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and serves as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current Arkansas PA License (or eligible to apply).
  • Approved credentialing by date of hire.
  • Meets licensure requirements for a Physician Assistant as defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working as a Physician Assistant.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:
  • Daily management of critical and non-critical patients both in clinical and surgical settings.
  • Responsible for managing care of patients, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions.
  • Augments a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients.
  • Performs assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems with patients.
  • Collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations as well as providing direct patient care services.
  • Coordinates with Ambulatory Surgery and scheduling of surgeries.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
