Job Summary

The Physician Assistant assists the physicians in the global management of patient care in all outpatient, inpatient and peri-operative settings. Performs first assist duties in surgery, comprehensive and problem-focused histories, minor surgical procedures, diagnosis and treats illnesses and injuries, orders and interprets laboratory and radiographic studies, educates and counsels patients, renders emergency care, and facilitates patient referrals to the appropriate physician or agency.

Work Experience:

One year of experience as Physician Assistant preferred

License/Registration/Certification:

Valid Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board.

Physician Assistant - Certified issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Current BLS certification is required.

Must have DEA number, DPS number, and the ability to obtain an NPI number.

Education and Training:

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Skills:
  1. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  2. Effective oral and written communication skills.
