Full Job Description
As a Full Time Physician Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in San Antonio, TX. The scheduled hours are Monday- Thursday, 7:00PM-3:30AM. A great option for someone who enjoys having long weekends and extra flexibility during the day!

What You'll Do
  • Injury and illness care, physical exams, urgent care for employees sick at work, emergency care and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
  • Perform fitness-for-duty exams and return-to-work exams.
  • Provide medically appropriate care to injured workers using evidence-based guidelines, expedites the return to meaningful work, and collaborates with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
  • Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
  • Perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, ... etc.).
  • Develop patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
  • Collaborate with the medical director and client stakeholders on Health Promotion programs, surveillance needs, ergonomics, process development, and other related safety/injury prevention opportunities.
  • Prescribe or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
  • Refer patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
  • Maintain patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
  • Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice.
  • Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable).
  • Current NCCPA national certification required.
  • Degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
  • Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
  • Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
  • At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.
  • Experience working in an occupational health setting is preferred.
  • Experience performing site visits and working with safety teams establishing ways to mitigate workplace hazards.
