Job Description

The Plastic Surgery Department is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a collaborative team providing comprehensive surgical care across the patient continuum. Working closely with Plastic Surgery faculty, physicians, APPs, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams, the PA-C will support patient evaluation, perioperative care, postoperative management, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support to plastic surgeons in the management of surgical patients.
  • Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations.
  • Manage outpatient follow-up visits, including in-person and telehealth encounters.
  • Assist surgeons in the operating room, including first or second assisting as appropriate.
  • Perform procedures within approved scope of practice and clinical privileges.
  • Participate in inpatient care and hospital rounding as needed.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Facilitate care coordination and continuity throughout the perioperative and postoperative course.
  • Adapt to a workflow that may vary between clinic, operating room, and inpatient responsibilities.
  • Position will support clinical operations across Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Marina Hospital, and affiliated services at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Bachelor's degree

Experience:
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery or another surgical specialty.
  • Prior surgical clinic and operating room experience.
  • Experience with first- and/or second-assist responsibilities.
  • Robotics exposure or experience.
  • Experience managing patients across the perioperative continuum.
  • Prior operating room experience or exposure.
  • Ability to work effectively across clinic, OR, and inpatient environments.

License/Certification:
  • Current, unrestricted California PA license.
  • DEA License (schedule 2-5_
  • National PA certification.
  • NPI
  • ACLS and PALS
