Full Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Physician Assistant or an APRN to work in a collaborative team-based model, working directly with two established orthopedic surgeons; a spine physician and a total joint replacement physician. This role is office based; splitting days with each physician at their Hamden, Branford, Orange or Shelton locations. Flexible schedule available. Experience is preferred but are open to training a new grad. Competitive Sign On Bonus! Essential Responsibilities: • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat new and existing patients' conditions • Provide medical services and advice for acute and chronic orthopaedic medical conditions • Establish patients' plan of care • Manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal medical conditions • Order diagnostic tests and interpret results of diagnostic tests such as x-rays • Write or dictate progress or other medical notes on patients' charts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed, with each such entry to be signed and dated; ensure that all orders written by PA are followed by PA's signature and printed name of supervising physician • Conduct follow-up patient care • Provide health education to patients and families and participate in community health education • Supervisor and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinical setting • Prescribe medications, including narcotics, controlled substances or class scheduled drugs with Supervising Physician's documentation in the patient medical record • Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor Skills and Abilities: • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, and communication skills • Excellent documentation skills • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical record systems • Able to trouble shoot, strong sense of decision making and judgment; action oriented; approachable • Team player and effective at building and fostering teamwork as well as maintain composure when dealing with conflict, thoughtful of others, courteous Experience/Educational requirements: • Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant • Bachelor's degree required • A minimum of 1 year clinical experience required Experience/Educational requirements: What we offer: • Competitive salary, 401(k) contributions, and company-paid life insurance. • Generous PTO and paid holidays to promote work-life balance. • Access to training and development opportunities and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Uniform allowance • Free Parking • Reimbursement for credentialing fees • CEU allowance and days
