Full Job Description
General Summary of Position
The NP or Physician's Assistant role includes examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care for patients with podiatric concerns and complex wound management. Professional practice is in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. A background in Orthopedic Medicine or Sports Medicine is ideal.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients for health history and perform physical examination
  • Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Document H & P, progress notes, and treatment plans
  • Act as liaison between patients and physicians to coordinate recommended patient care as well as pre- and post-operative care
  • Caring for patients in a clinical setting
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement meetings

  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Education/Training -Master of Science degree or higher, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Certification
  • License/Certification - Registered and currently recorded with the Idaho Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Orthopedic and Neuro experience is a plus


Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
