Hoag Specialty Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and personable Physician Assistant with experience in Neuro and Spine to join a nationally ranked program based in Newport Beach and/or Irvine, California.

Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute offers world-class expertise in most conditions of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves leveraging our multidisciplinary program approach, each focusing on a specific patient issue.

Hoag Spine Center is a recognized leader in accurately diagnosing neck and back pain, while providing the most advanced non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment options available. Back pain is one of the two most common complaints seen by physicians. Most back pain is due to muscle or ligamentous sprains and strains. Proper diagnosis is essential to avoid unnecessary surgery. Hoag offers comprehensive spine care, minimally invasive surgery options, treats complex spine disorders, provides interventional pain management, treats spinal tumors and offers rehabilitation and physical therapy as part of our comprehensive, multi-disciplinary program.

Position Details:
• Schedule: Full-Time opportunity in Newport Beach, CA
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts. 6:00am - 6:00pm.
• Coverage: We require night call coverage that can be taken from home. This will be on a rotating basis
• Setting: Inpatient focused role with outpatient services based on program needs
• Duties: Ability to serve as surgical assistant in procedures in the hospital, rounding patients in the hospital (pre and post-operatively), removing drains, supporting discharging of patients, escalating any patient needs to the surgeon, Conduct physical exams, diagnose, and treat illnesses, order, and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, etc.
• Team: Strong Team of Neurosurgeons and Physician Assistants
• EMR: Epic

Qualifications:
• Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program, evidence of satisfactory performance and completion of proctoring requirements
• Current license in good standing to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of California
• Successful candidates must have experience and expertise in the full spectrum of chronic neck or back pain, osteoarthritis, nerve compression, spine bifida, sciatica, tumors and degenerative back disorders etc.
• Current and active DEA licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative / team-oriented environment are a must.
