Responsibilities

Full Job Description
The Women's Health Department at WMCHealth is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) service. In this comprehensive position, the PA will work alongside experienced MD and APP colleagues managing a wide variety of GYN patients. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who thrives in a collaborative but autonomous setting and enjoys treating patients throughout the continuum GYN services.

Responsibilities:

  • See patients independently for a variety of visit types inclusive of annual GYN visits, medication follow ups, urgent follow ups, and post-op visits.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and follow patients within a wide variety of Gyn Onc clinical diagnoses.
  • Perform procedural visits such as bladder instillations, IUD removals/insertions, endometrial biopsies, and trigger point injections.
  • Provide operative assist for Robotic and Laparoscopic surgical cases at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, and occasionally MidHudson Region Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
  • Contribute to a flexible practice model that is designed to support future growth and evolving clinical needs
  • Align with an organization where PAs have mentorship and support within the Center for Advanced Practice where Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are integral members, not an afterthought

Who We're Looking For:
  • Candidates must be Board Certified as a PA-C, with a current, unrestricted applicable New York State License.
  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of ambulatory GYN experience, although highly motivated new graduates will be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must, in addition to strong clinical judgment, and the demonstration to work effectively in a high-acuity environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Candidates must have BLS and ACLS
