OverviewThe Division of Transplant Surgery, within the Department of Surgery, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our abdominal transplant team, a group of professionals who are committed to providing excellent care in a supportive environment. The candidate accepting this position will contribute to an active clinical and surgical practice in an education setting including medical students, surgery fellows, and residents. A minimum of 1 year experience in pediatrics is required, experience in the operating room is preferred. If desired, a research interest will be fostered by the division and in conjunction with the new, state-of-the-art Children's Mercy Research Institute.

Physician Assistants II (PA-II) provide proficient, comprehensive health care services to a defined patient population; obtaining the health history; performing a physical examination, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures; formulating and implementing a plan of care; and participating in patient and family education. Each PA II demonstrates commitment to professional leadership and provides leadership for quality & outcomes improvement activities, clinical research or evidence based practice, and organizational development.

Qualifications- Master's Degree Required and 1-2 years experience 1-2 years Pediatric Physician Assistance experience. Skillful use of the electronic health record (EHR). Preferred in specialty practice and/or pediatrics
