Physician and Advanced Practice Provider Recruiter

Location: Geneva, NY
Department: Human Resources
Schedule: Full Time On Site

Physician and Advanced Practice Provider Recruiter to lead the recruitment and retention of physicians and advanced practice providers across our health system. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-driven recruiter who thrives on building partnerships, developing recruitment strategies, and helping shape the future of healthcare in our communities.

In this role, you'll collaborate with hospital leadership, medical staff, residency programs, and healthcare professionals to attract exceptional providers while creating a positive candidate experience from initial outreach through onboarding.

What You'll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for physicians and advanced practice providers, managing searches from requisition through hire.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans based on organizational and specialty-specific workforce needs.
  • Build strong relationships with residency and fellowship program directors, professional organizations, recruiting firms, and provider candidates.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews, site visits, itineraries, and follow-up communications.
  • Develop and monitor recruitment and retention strategies to strengthen provider engagement and long-term retention.
  • Analyze recruitment trends, provider turnover, and workforce needs to recommend recruitment strategies.
  • Partner with hospital leadership and medical staff to ensure effective communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate provider onboarding, orientation, relocation, licensing, credentialing support, and payer enrollment activities.
  • Facilitate locum tenens coverage, including contracts, scheduling, travel, housing, liability coverage, and invoice processing.
  • Assist with physician and APP integration into the organization and local community.
  • Prepare recruitment reports and provide updates for Strategic Physician Recruitment meetings.
  • Provide backup support for Medical Staff Credentialing functions as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
    • Applicants actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Three (3) years of professional recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting highly specialized or technical professionals or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate recruitment activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting physicians and/or advanced practice providers.
  • Experience with physician contract negotiation and retention initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
