West Virginia University School of Medicine's Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute is actively recruiting a board-certified/eligible cardiac surgeon to join our rapidly growing Adult Cardiac Surgery Division. Eligible candidates will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.

The successful candidate will practice the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. Subspecialty and academic interests, while not mandatory, will be facilitated by the Department to ensure future growth and development of the new faculty member.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of cardiothoracic surgery. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a general surgery residency program, as well as a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board eligible/certified in cardiothoracic surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
