Full Job Description
Position Summary:
Plans, and directs operations of the Inpatient physical therapy and speech therapy services. Consults with medical and professional staff of other departments to plan and coordinate joint patient and management objectives. Conducts staff conference send plans training programs to maintain proficiency of staff in therapy techniques and use of new methods and equipment to meet patients' needs. Allocates personnel on the basis of work load, space, and equipment available. Insures that the therapy services provided meets or exceeds the standard of care for the professional and adheres to all regulations and policies mandated for the service. Will provide direct patient care as required. Will coordinate hospital-wide training in ergonomics or lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
College Degree-4 year in Physical Therapy required, Doctorate in PT preferred.
Work requires thorough knowledge of the clinical process and treatment standards, knowledge of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures. Must possess good verbal and written English communication skills. Good time management and prioritizing skills. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience. Requires in-depth knowledge of human growth and development, human anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, biomechanics of motion, manifestations of disease and trauma, normal and abnormal physiological responses, injury and disability and ethnic, cultural and socio-economic influences on an individual. Knowledge in neurodevelopment and facilitation treatment techniques, neuromuscular re-education, cardiac monitoring and in the theory and application of all physical therapy modalities.
Requires current State of California Physical Therapist License, Current California Driver's license and American Heart Association BCLS certificate.
