Job Summary and Qualifications

Supervising and coordinating activities of the Physical Therapy program and staff to administer optimal treatment of disabled, injured or diseased patients of all ages. Administer medically prescribed programs and treatments to detect, assess, prevent, correct, and alleviate physical disability and pain from injury, disease, disorders or physical deformities. The department will meet age specific needs of neonatal (0-4 wks.), infant (1 mo.-12 mos.), child (1 yr.-12 yrs.), adolescent (13 yrs.-18 yrs.), adult (18 yrs.-64 yrs.), and geriatric (greater than 64 yrs.) population.


What You Will Do In This Role:

- Recommends and implements new methods for improving and expanding patient/customer services and developing more efficient and quality department operations.

- Interacts with physicians and staff regarding patient care and departmental functions while maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient's rights are protected.

- Observes personnel in performance of duties and evaluates efficiency, skills, abilities, and attitudes toward fellow workers and patients for use in recommending personnel actions and determining effectiveness of methods.

- Ensures employees receive needed orientation and educational training to perform their jobs and prepare them to meet the age specific requirements of the patients they serve.

- Serves as the Clinical Coordinator of Clinical Education for all aspects of Rehabilitation Services.

- Responsible for assisting in developing productivity targets and maintaining these targets.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

Five or more year previous supervisory skills helpful.

Education:

Graduate of APTA approved school of Physical Therapy with a Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science, or

Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy

License/Certification:

  1. Current Physical Therapy License issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners


  1. Current BCLS certification


Special Qualifications:

Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including:

  1. Thorough knowledge of the physiology of the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. Skills required to build treatment plans accordingly.


  1. Excellent working knowledge of CMS requirements and insurance requirements.


  1. Good management abilities, good organizational and time management skills.


  1. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
