About the Job

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health | Newark, NJ | Full-Time | Earn Up to $105,300.

Stern at Home Therapy is hiring a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide one-on-one care to patients in their homes in and around Newark, NJ.

Choose the compensation structure that works best for you: a $58,000-$75,000 annual salary, W-2 tiered per-visit compensation, or 1099 tiered contractor compensation with earning potential up to $105,300 annually based on visit volume.

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed PTA who wants the autonomy and flexibility of home health while still having the support of supervising Physical Therapists and an established clinical and administrative team.

Treat one patient at a time, manage your daily schedule, and provide individualized care without the double-booking, high-volume productivity expectations, and clinic burnout common in traditional outpatient settings.

What You'll Do:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Stern at Home Therapy, you will provide one-on-one treatments to a primarily geriatric patient population in their homes throughout the Newark area.

You will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists who provide remote clinical oversight and establish each patient's plan of care. PTAs do not perform evaluations in this role, allowing you to focus on providing treatments and helping patients make progress toward their established goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments in patients' homes.
  • Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Work closely with remote supervising PTs regarding patient progress, changes in condition, and treatment recommendations.
  • Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, safety, and overall function.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, families, supervising PTs, and members of the clinical team.
  • Manage your daily schedule and caseload with support from our administrative team.

Compensation:

We offer multiple compensation options based on your preferred employment structure.

Full-Time W-2 Tiered Per-Visit Option:

  • $35-$50 per visit.
  • Earn more per visit as you move through the tiered compensation structure.

Full-Time 1099 Tiered Contractor Option:

  • $50-$60 per visit.
  • Earn more per visit as you move through the tiered compensation structure.
  • Earning potential of up to $105,300 annually, based on visit volume.

Full-Time Salary Option:

  • $58,000-$75,000 annually.

Benefits:

Eligible W-2 employees may receive:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • PTO and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • CEU support.
  • Student loan assistance.
  • Childcare assistance.
  • Wellness stipend.
  • Commuter stipend.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Equipment provided.

Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting while collaborating with remote supervising Physical Therapists.
  • Home health experience is preferred but not required.
