Responsible for specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and illnesses in professional sports. This position provides quality evidence-based athletic health services and develops comprehensive health care programs. Additionally, this role builds and maintains strategic relationships with physicians, hospital administration, athletic trainers, coaches, sports performance specialists, athletes, and their parents. In addition, this position fulfills the staff and medical requirements of contracts or partnership agreements for assigned areas/events and identifies and resolves issues affecting the effective delivery of health care. This role requires availability outside of normal working hours and moderate travel with specific athletes to national and potentially international events.
Adjusts training and care plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback. Coordinates with high performance medical staff to optimize athlete performance. Collaborates with counselors to address athletes' mental health needs. Communicates effectively with all team members to ensure cohesive care. Integrates feedback from various specialists to enhance athlete well-being. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of best practices in sports medicine and performance. Develops and implements training programs with coaches and strength coaches. Monitors athlete health and performance with physicians and medical staff. Creates nutrition plans with nutritionists to support athlete health and performance. Provides mental health support and counseling services to athletes. Facilitates communication and collaboration among all team members. Ensures all aspects of athlete care are integrated and aligned with performance goals. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite technology [Required]• Excellent communication skills within a Sports Medicine team and professional organization [Required]• Athletic Trainer/Sports Certified Specialist degree/certification [Required]

• Master's [Required]• Doctorate [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• in Physical Therapy
Work Experience:
• 3+ of experience working with high level athletes [Required]• 5+ years of experience [preferred]• Master-level professional competency of Rehabilitation, prevention, evaluation, principles, and applications as defined in competencies departmental policy

$79,402.93 - $147,697.47
