Job Title: Physical Therapist

Location: Ambulatory Care Center

Department Name: ACC - Physical Therapy



Status: Salaried

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $99,352.50 - $114,757.50 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Examines and evaluates patients upon referral from a physician, podiatrist, dentist, or nurse practitioner. Plans and implements specific treatment for patients to reverse impairments, restore function and facilitate development of skills essential for adaptive and productive living. Participates in PI and physical therapy clinical education programs. Provides care to all patients in accordance with patient's age and developmental status. Position is for Outpatient Physical Therapy.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Physical Therapy degree from an APTA accredited school of physical therapy
  • New Jersey Physical Therapist License
  • American Heart Association BLS

Preferred:
  • At least 6 months of experience working as licensed Physical Therapist
  • Experience working in hospital outpatient setting
  • Experience using Epic

Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • New Jersey Physical Therapist License
  • American Heart Association BLS

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full Time
  • 37.5 hours per week

Essential Functions:
  • Administers therapy treatments to patients following standard accepted therapy practice and policies and procedures of CORC
  • Develops appropriate discharge plans with patient and/or family
  • Develops appropriate home therapy program and instructs patients and families in proper implementation; makes recommendations for therapeutic/adaptive equipment as indicated and instructs patients and families in their safe and effective use
  • Documents appropriate charges and necessary information on department billing sheet on a daily basis
  • Documents treatment provided in patient medical record in a timely manner
  • Maintains patient medical record as per accepted therapy practice and policies/procedures of CORC
  • Evaluates/re-evaluates appropriate parameters on each patient using standard tests and procedures; records findings in the medical record and communicates same to referring physician and other members of the health care team as indicated in accordance with departmental and ACC policies and procedures
  • Fabricates splints and adaptive equipment, adapts environment as needed to maximize functional performance of patient following accepted therapy practice and department policies/procedures
  • Formulates/implements plan of treatment/goals based on evaluation findings and in consultation with referring physician; records in medical record according to departmental/ACC policies/procedures and scope of practice
  • Observes and documents in the medical record the patient's treatment, response to treatment, progress and other changes; alters the treatment plan and goals as indicated in consultation with referring physician, and discusses changes regularly with members of the health care team
  • Supervises Therapy Assistants and clinical assistants
  • Supervises students appropriately; tailors supervision to student needs, provides appropriate feedback, clarifies expectations, completes required evaluations and regularly confers with student coordinator
