Compensation: $36.52 to $59.55 per hour (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)

The outpatient therapy team plays a critical role in supporting patient care by providing therapy evaluations and treatments to a wide variety of patients in the Adirondack Region.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)
  • Assess Patients: Evaluate patients of all ages, get to know their specific needs, and partner with them and their families to set realistic goals.
  • Provide Hands-On Therapy: Run treatments using targeted exercises and specialized equipment, adjusting your approach on the fly based on how the patient is progressing.
  • Keep the Team in the Loop: Write up clear, timely progress notes and discharge summaries, and collaborate directly with doctors and nurses on care plans.
  • Educate and Guide: Teach patients and families about their recovery process so they feel confident and safe managing their health.
  • Mentor Others: Help supervise PT students, aides, and volunteers, and share your knowledge with the rest of the therapy team.


What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Licensure: An active New York State Physical Therapist license (or eligibility to get one) and a passed state exam
  • Certification and Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) (or obtained at time of hire) and a valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Skills:
    • Clinical Knowledge: Solid understanding of physical therapy treatments and medical terminology.
    • Patient Assessment: Ability to evaluate clinical data and create clear recovery goals.
    • Problem-Solving: Confidence to make independent decisions.
    • Communication: Warm, clear style for explaining evaluation results to families.
    • Teaching Ability: Skill to instruct patients of all ages on safe movement and exercises.
    • Tech Comfort: Experience using computers and standard office or clinical documentation software.
