Wells Fargo is seeking a Physical Collateral Examination Associate Manager within Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.


This leadership opportunity is based in the St. Joseph MI or St. Louis MO area. You must live in this area for efficiency purposes or be willing to relocate.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a remote team of Field Service associates to deliver high-quality, on-time inventory inspections that provide collateral status for Portfolio monitoring that protects and minimizes losses to the business.

  • Make daily supervisory decisions and resolve moderately complex business issues related to team supervision, work allocation and customer interactions.

  • Lead as a Player/Coach by spending 6–10 days per month performing inspections in the field, setting the standard through direct involvement, real-time coaching, and visible leadership alongside Field Service Associates.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development, escalating issues and solutions to senior management.

  • Manage allocation of resources to build efficient territory assignments for Field Service Associates, collaborating and using data to support changes to continuously improve on-time execution and productivity. 

  • Build strong performing teams by providing routine performance feedback through in-person visits, virtual touchpoints and promoting an open environment that drives collaboration and continued professional development.  

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and senior managers to identify and solve cross functional issues while building a diverse network.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Collateral Examination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 1+ years of Leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Proficient with FSG iPDE Inspection software and Field Service Representative Online (FSRO)

  • Demonstrated understanding and application of inspection procedures

  • Demonstrated Customer focus while executing all required inspection procedures

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to rapidly changing, growth-oriented environment.

  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical/problem skills; ability to prioritize

Job Expectations:

  • Must be willing to travel overnight up to 50% of the time, both flight and vehicle travel

  • Ability to push/pull 50 pounds and lift 25 pounds

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments up to 8 hours per day 

  • Ability to travel daily with 4 or more hours of driving per day 

  • Reliable transportation for daily business travel

  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance A

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
