Role Summary

We are seeking a Pharmacy Sales Consultant. As a Pharmacy Sales Consultant at McKesson Corporation, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong customer relationships within a defined territory of independent pharmacies. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and support to help pharmacies optimize their operations and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for McKesson's pharmaceutical products and services.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the independent pharmacy market segment.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing pharmacy customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and presentations to showcase McKesson's product portfolio, value propositions, and industry insights.
  • Educate pharmacy owners and staff on new products, industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product management, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track sales activities, manage customer accounts, and forecast sales.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms to secure profitable agreements for McKesson and value for the customer.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to pharmacy staff on McKesson's technology solutions and services.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities and market dynamics to identify competitive advantages and potential threats.


Minimum Requirements & Education
  • Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, sales, marketing, pharmacy, business management, or healthcare related field preferred or equivalent experience.


Critical Skills
  • 4+ years of successful sales experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare distribution industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of independent pharmacy operations, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse customer personalities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.


Work Environment
  • Remote/Home Office work environment.
  • Must live in territory, ideally centrally located in Arizona.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record/MVR.
  • Able to travel extensively overnight (8-12 nights a month) to customers 80% of the time.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$120,800 - $201,400
