Full Job Description
Pharmacy Manager - Inpatient

The Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy and at least 5 years experience as a Pharmacist to include 3 years in supervisory/managerial role. Candidate will have previous experience in managing Pharmacy Operations, demonstrates leadership through
provision of development opportunities and ongoing feedback to employees, promotes relationships through collaboratively working with inter- and intradepartmental team members of the team.

Working Hours: This will be a Hybrid model

Our Inpatient Pharmacy team delivers comprehensive and high-quality medication distribution services across the hospital. We manage all aspects of inpatient drug delivery - including unit dose dispensing, IV admixture preparation, and specialized systems for controlled substances and investigational drugs. We leverage advanced automation and robotic dispensing technology to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety in every step of the process.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Manages pharmacy operations Manages operations by
1. implementing and maintaining best practices as defined through legal and national standards
2. developing comprehensive quality programs to assure medication safety (follow-up on PSN reports for workflow changes as needed),
3. monitors area workflow according to defined metrics to assure all duties are performed in an efficient manner, or adjusts accordingly,
4. directing workflow and monitoring productivity, and
5. meeting patient care needs.

1. provision of development opportunities and ongoing feedback to employees,
2. provision of clear direction and communication to employees within unit,
3. effective project management to meet timelines, service levels, and defined budget within defined limits
4. takes initiative to learn new procedures / technology

1. collaboratively working with inter- and intradepartmental team members,
2. timely resolution of conflicts and service level complaints (grievance or PSN reports),
3. timely address conflicts between staff within the department; works toward win - win solutions,
4. actively support and participation in team projects, and
5. promoting and maintaining a professional work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited school of pharmacy.

Preferred Education: Doctorate (Professional)

Certification: All of the following:
Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license within 90 days of job entry.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of job entry.

Preferred Certification: Basic Life Support, ACPE for IV Sterile Processing

Experience: Five years of pharmacist experience to include three years in a supervisory/managerial role. With preferred degree (which must be obtained within 180 days), completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 pharmacy administrative residency program can substitute for required experience.
Successful completion of the Leading Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.

Preferred Experience: Supervisory experience with an advanced degree. Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record.
