Patient Care- Serves patients by preparing medications and giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care teams
- Monitoring patient drug therapies
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
- Completes pharmacy operationsal requirements by organizing and directing the workflow of Pharmacy Technicians by verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
Compliance - Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspection.
- Maintains records for controlled substances and removed outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory
- Supervisors the work results of support personnel.
- Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipated legislation and advises management on needed actions.
- Protects patients, technicians and other personnel by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Customer Service - Consult with multidisciplinary teams at facility locations.
- Demonstrate genuine care of patients
- Ensure accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals
- Provide and ensure exceptional customer service to all customers, internal and external.
Requirements
Experience - 1-3 years working in pharmacy setting.
- 1-3 Previous working or relatable experience in Long Term Care; Skilled Nursing or Infusion Pharmacy preferred.
Education - Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
- Bachelor's Degree in related field Preferred
Licensure - Valid California Pharmacist License
