An inpatient pharmacist at Riverview health works in a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals performing medication order review and verification, conducting therapeutic drug monitoring, adjusting dosing for renal and other organ dysfunction, and identifying and resolving medication-related problems. This position serves as the expert resource in the delivery of drug information for other clinicians and oversees technician functions within a great team culture. At Riverview Health you will experience a progressive pharmacy practice with numerous P&T-approved protocols that allows you the independence to customize pharmacotherapy for individual patients and work at the top of your license.

Job Responsibilities
  • Medication order review and verification.
  • Clinical Pharmacy services including pharmacokinetics and other drug dosing per facility protocols.
  • Performs patient/family education as needed.
  • Drug information resource for other clinical staff.
  • Direct and check the daily activities of pharmacy technicians.
  • Prepare intravenous solutions using aseptic techniques.
  • Actively participate in daily huddle passing information to other staff members.
  • Accurately maintain required state and federal records for controlled substances and fill floor stock requests for controlled substances.
  • Perform lab testing according to CLIA'88 regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:
  • Minimum: Pharmacy degree from an accredited university, as required by law

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum: Pharmacy Graduate of an accredited university.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of hospital pharmacist experience.

License / Certification Requirements:
  • Pharmacist license eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
