Pharmacist - Specialty

General Summary/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedures, dispenses medications and pharmaceutical care upon receiving physician orders; performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs; supervises support personnel in all work areas assigned; participates in training pharmacy students, technicians, and other allied professionals.
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and according to standard procedures, oversees/performs total prescription filling process: data entry, inventory management, patient counseling, counting, labeling, filing and billing of prescribed products. Coordinates delivery, as necessary.

Coordinates care (with a multi-disciplinary team) directly with patients and caregivers.

Works with other team members and outside entities (insurance companies, PBMs, manufacturers) to obtain/verify patient financial responsibilities

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:
• Type of degree: Doctorate or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy
• Area of study or major: Pharmacy

Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Must be licensed by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Knowledge/Skills
• Posses good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and problem solving skills.
• Able to read and write printed material in English.
• Posses ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team member.
• Must be customer-service minded.
