Registered PharmacistPosition Summary: The Registered Pharmacist must work with pharmacy staff, Quality Correctional Care staff, and county staff to provide medications to inmates and facilities.
Registered Pharmacist Mandatory Functions: - Responsible for complying with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Accountable for entire pharmacy operations, compliance and outcomes.
- Named responsibility for board of pharmacy compliance.
- Responsible for oversight of controlled substances, audits, inspections.
- Responsible for policy enforcement and recordkeeping.
- Primary contact for regulatory agencies.
- Comply with court orders, medical department rules and the policies and procedures of Quality Rx.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate therapy, and interactions and communicate any discrepancies to providers quickly to prevent any disruption of care to patients
- Accurately and efficiently process, package, and dispense prescriptions
- Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
- Closely manage inventory in a cost-effective manner
- Direct supervision of pharmacy technicians and ensures work is accurate
- Recommend improved procedures, equipment, and supplies to C-Suite.
- Participate in periodic drug utilization reviews of facilities.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Present/participate in in-service education sessions.
- Maintain professional attitude at all times.
Registered Pharmacist Education, experience, and skills required: - The Registered Pharmacist must be licensed in the state of Indiana
- Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
- Experience working in a closed door/institutional pharmacy preferred, but not required
- Experience with FrameWork helpful, but not required
Registered Pharmacist Work Location: In person - Carmel, Indiana
Pharmacy Hours: 8AM-5PM, M-F
