Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

 

Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) from a college of Pharmacy

 

AND

 

One of the following:

  • Completion of a PGY Residency Program
  • Completion of a fellowship program in a relevant area
  • 5 of the most recent 7 years’ experience in a clinical setting

 

Working knowledge of drug therapy and disease state management.

 

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Current license/eligibility by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy*

 

Parenteral license*

 

Board certification or eligibility to obtain certification within 1 year

 

*Permanent licenses will be required within 6 months of placement into position

 

Desired Licensure, Registration, Certification:

 

Added qualifications or certifications in area of specialty

Responsibilities

Ensures and provides patient care that optimizes medication therapy and promotes health, wellness and disease prevention.  Facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of complex, in-depth clinical services that promote desirable patient outcomes using safe, cost-effective drug therapies.
