What You'll Do:
The Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) provides both clinical and non-clinical pharmacy services for Blue Ridge Health, including the implementation, integration, and delivery of clinical services as well as the appropriate dispensing of medications. Responsibilities include:
- Supports workflow for processing/verification of prescriptions/medication, provide counseling, and serves as a clinical resource to providers.
- Reviews prescriptions for appropriateness with current therapy, allergies, adverse drug effects, cost, and other concomitant conditions prior to dispensing.
- Maintains professional competency, and maintains compliance with all State and Federal laws, including the 340B program.
- Educates Doctor of Pharmacy students in an experiential setting.
- Provides clinical pharmacy services to patients of Blue Ridge Health.
- Facilitates the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of pharmacy clinical services throughout Blue Ridge Health.
- Assist with pharmacists' and provider development and education.
What We're Looking For:
- Pharm.D. degree required.
- Eligible to obtain Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner Certification required
- Pharmacy residency preferred.
- Certification/Licensure Specific Requirements:
Licensed in NC by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
Board Certification preferred - Must be able to read and generate written medical communication and documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, providers, peers, supervisor or other collaborative community agencies.
- Ability to communicate any real or potential clinic problems to appropriate risk management staff.
- Builds a positive work environment by working cooperatively within department and with other areas through teamwork, interpersonal skills, and personal improvement/initiative.
- Strong interest in working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team and culturally diverse patient population
