In Pharmacy at Main Campus Children's of Alabama
Work schedule will be 7on / 7off on the Night Shift, 8 pm - 6 am.
Summary:
A Pharmacist is responsible for providing professional pharmaceutical care to the patients, staff, and community served by Children's of Alabama in accordance with established policy, procedures, and laws of state and federal government. He or she is also responsible for providing specialty pharmaceutical services and being a team leader on their shift as required.
Other information:
Should have knowledge of the administrative direction of pharmacy services and be versed in current concepts and principles of institutional pharmacy service. Should demonstrate and practice leadership qualities
A Pharmacist regularly participates in:
One-on-one communications with physicians, medical residents, nursing staff, other pharmacists, patients/parents, and other Children's of Alabama employees.
Supervising pharmacy interns, pharmacy residents, technicians, and students.
A Pharmacist occasionally participates in:

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Licensed Pharmacist
* Pharmacy Parenteral Certification
* Alabama Controlled Substances Registration
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:

* Doctorate of Pharmacy in Pharmacy
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
The Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to Children's of Alabama Patients. Services include, compounding of sterile and non-sterile medication, pharmacokinetics, medication order verification, OR preference bags, hazardous medication dispensing and compounding, clinical pharmacy services, unit-dosing of medication, automatic dispensing machines (Pyxis), investigational study pharmacy, medication delivery and more. The pharmacy operates out of a central pharmacy located in the Benjamin Russell building. Decentralized services are provided by clinical pharmacists on the units and several pharmacy satellites (main campus OR, Children's South, hematology/oncology clinic, Investigational Pharmacy). The pharmacy utilizes Epic, Epic Willow Inventory, bar code scanning, vertical carousels, and kit management software.
