Hospital Overview:The employer is Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare located in Tallahassee, Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy.
- Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy.
- Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature.
- Plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required.
- Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and the Pharmacy Director, optimizes patient medication therapy by providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services.
- Works collaboratively with the health care team to accomplish goals.
- Assignments may include but not limited to the following specialty areas: infectious disease, oncology, cardiovascular, medication safety, and PharmacoEconomics.
Qualifications:Required EducationMinimum: Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution. Preferred: Advanced degree or enrollment in advanced degree program.
Required ExperiencePreferred: 1+ years experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting.
Required Certification/License/RegistryCurrent Florida pharmacist license or eligible for licensure in Florida.
