Job Title: MRI Technologist (Permanent / Urgent)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and autonomous MRI Technologist for an immediate, high-priority full-time opening. Operating under the high-level guidance of the Department Director and Medical Director, you will perform a variety of complex diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures. This position requires strong independent judgment, operational initiative, and a comprehensive, flawless understanding of MRI safety standards while working under limited direct supervision.

Compensation & Department Overview:

  • Salary Target: $104,601 / annually (Median target; final compensation is dependent upon years of experience).
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Placement.
  • Clinical Setting: Comprehensive, 24/7 Acute Care Hospital Radiology Department providing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care across the lifespan.


Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Graduate of a formal, AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology [Required].
  • Clinical Experience: Proven experience operating MRI scanners specifically within an acute care hospital setting [Required].
  • Professional References: Must provide at least two (2) recent clinical supervisory reference contacts.


Licensure & Certifications:

  • Primary Registry: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration [Required].
  • Specialty Registry: Active, dedicated MRI Registry credential [Required].
  • Life Support: Active CPR Certification / Basic Life Support [Required].
  • Vascular Access: Active Venipuncture Certification[Required] (Note: Otherwise qualified candidates may be permitted to obtain this certification within the first 3 months of hire).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced MRI Imaging: Independently perform technical MRI procedures with high precision, applying clinical theories to achieve optimal image quality and reliable diagnostic results.
  • MRI Safety Enforcement: Maintain absolute compliance with MRI safety protocols (Zone III and IV safety controls), thoroughly screening patients, staff, and equipment to prevent any adverse magnetic incidents.
  • Workflow & Judgement: Exercise independent clinical initiative to manage patient transit, coordinate exam priorities with emergency and inpatient services, and ensure a comfortable patient experience.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of licensed radiologists, technologists, and support staff to participate in departmental quality control monitoring, proper safety documentation, and continuing education.
