Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Perioperative Educator, you will be instrumental in fostering nursing staff development and ensuring clinical excellence across our surgical departments at St. Bernardine Medical Center, Community Hospital of San Bernardino, and Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center. On a daily basis, you'll find yourself serving as a clinical education specialist, implementing evidence-based practice through robust competency assessment and continuing education programs. You'll lead by aligning all healthcare education with our operational goals and leadership priorities, driving professional growth and ensuring consistently high-quality patient care.
You'll discover a core focus of your role involves enhancing patient safety and quality improvement within our perioperative departments. This means you’ll actively collaborate with management to implement critical safety initiatives, track their progress, and report outcomes to leadership. You'll also be developing and facilitating crucial clinical simulations, including mock codes and disaster preparedness drills, to sharpen our staff's critical incident preparedness and guarantee compliance with essential regulatory requirements.
Furthermore, you will function as a vital clinical resource and mentor, championing professional collaboration and performance improvement. You'll design, deliver, and meticulously evaluate comprehensive education using diverse methods like online modules and hands-on labs. You are committed to cultivating an environment of continuous learning, integrating the latest nursing research findings, and serving as a primary consultant for all perioperative staff development needs across our facilities.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 3-5 years years of clinical experience
Licensure:
- Current valid California nursing license RN; BLS
