Work Schedule:
Onsite - Buffalo, NY
Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Performance Leader to join them. You will report to the Process Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

As a Performance Leader, you will take daily operational ownership of one or more teams in our Assembly & Test organization. You'll lead a team of 20-40 technicians while driving performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role also plays a critical part in shaping team capability through workforce planning, hiring, training, development, and continuous improvement.

Performance Leaders are essential to the success of our manufacturing operations. You'll ensure our production teams are equipped to meet today's customer commitments and prepared for tomorrow's challenges. You'll work closely with site support functions and the Value Stream organization to keep processes aligned with site strategy and operational objectives.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll typically bring with you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and six years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities OR Associate's Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and ten years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of functional manufacturing activities and supporting departments (Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tooling Services, Materials, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment, strong organization skills, and excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to define and prioritize operational goals (e.g., reducing inventory, improving lead times)
  • Proven ability to build strong teamwork within the department and across supporting functions


As a Performance Leader, you will:
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive work environment through fair policy application, visible leadership, and open communication about business objectives and team performance.
  • Hold routine 1:1 discussions with team members to provide coaching, performance feedback, career development support, and to gauge engagement and morale.
  • Lead capacity planning, staffing, and cross-training efforts, including identifying skill gaps, forecasting future needs, hiring, succession planning, and developing retention strategies.
  • Perform daily gemba walks to verify that Assembly & Test core processes are being followed, including Safety, Quality, 5S/FOD, and WIP management.
  • Identify risks related to safety, quality, and production flow, and work with supporting functions to develop mitigation plans.
  • Ensure Tier 1 workgroup meetings are effective and actively participate in Tier 2 and Tier 3 meetings as needed.
  • Contribute to sitewide operational initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually
