Job Description

The Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in an Urgent Care setting. This APP will function independently and collaboratively to provide medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years. This position will require the provider to work weekend days and weekday nights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.
  • Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission and appropriate documents history and physical exam data.
  • Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so. Collaborates interprofessionally as needed. Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
  • Documents of patient care and progress on patient's chart.
  • Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.

  • PNP: Active Pennsylvania and Delaware Registered Nurse Licensure, Active unrestricted Pennsylvania and Delaware Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center
  • PA-C: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and Delaware; National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA
  • American Heart Association BLS upon hire
  • Interested applicants should possess the ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider.
  • 3-5 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ED or Urgent Care setting strongly preferred.
