Responsibilities
• Examine and diagnose dental conditions in children and adolescents.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Perform preventive treatments such as fluoride applications, sealants, and cleanings.
• Conduct restorative procedures including fillings, crowns, and other dental work.
• Communicate effectively with children and their families to educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Employ behavior management techniques to ensure a positive dental experience for children.
• Address and alleviate any dental anxieties or fears.
• Utilize specialized dental tools and equipment tailored for pediatric care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Collaborate with dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage appointment schedules and follow-up care.
• Stay current with advances in pediatric dentistry through continuous education and training.
• Adhere to best practices and ethical standards in pediatric dental care.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
• Completion of a pediatric dental residency program.
• State dental license to practice dentistry.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with parents and caregivers.
• Proficiency in using dental software and equipment.
