About the Job

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for the cost engineering and cost analysis/control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost reconciliations, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, maintains and monitors project budgets, change management, cost monitoring, cost variance analysis, quantity and craft labor reporting (QURR), and other periodic cost reports.
  • Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
  • Prepares and ensures accuracy of the project cashflow and revenue earnings. Assists with PwC semiyearly project audit.
  • Ensures accuracy in the cost coding of budgets and actuals.
  • Performs budgets allocation in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures. Identifies trends and supports the change control program. Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in implementing change management process and tools, performing cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs, and their interface with schedule and cost systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written) with ability to understand and interpret technical and non-technical scope impacts for trend and baseline change documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing, monitoring, and evaluating cost engineering activities, including cost estimates, cost control, and cost analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, as well as a solid understanding of relevant Controller instructions that affect Project Controls.
  • Must be able to independently provide guidance, training and coaching to junior Cost Engineers with multiple backgrounds and experience.
  • Experience with preparation of cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Develops innovative new techniques to meet specific needs, as required.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
