Full Job Description
Position Overview

Responsible for managing the organization's payroll function. Accountable for timely and accurate pay of all associates, payroll reporting throughout the business and configuration and upkeep of payroll systems. Manages a team of Analysts and Specialists Contributes to the organization's payroll policies and procedures. Ensures payroll workstreams are optimal and efficient. Ensuring analysis and reports highlight actionable findings. Partners with other departments and external vendors.

A Day in the Life

  • Manages payroll processes, accurate and timely pay to associates - through management of Analysts and Specialists, ensures the organization's payroll workstreams are optimal and efficient. Oversee timely and accurate data collection and calculation, system uploads, issuance of paychecks and electronic transfers.


  • Manages payroll research, analysis and troubleshooting - oversees research, analysis and troubleshooting of the organization's payroll, including all payroll systems administration, and handling internal/external questions.


  • Manages team - selects and hires, allocates work, trains and develops, makes recommendations for personnel actions and compensation,. :Leads and motivates team of direct reports. Manages and evaluates performance - sets goals and objectives for the team, and with individual associates.


  • Ensures integrity and compliance for all payroll processes and procedures. Maintains associate confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Audits payroll results, ensuring legislative compliance and internal reporting requirements. Ensures SOX compliance for all processes and procedures.


You'll Come With

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (business, finance, accounting preferred). CPA or MBA preferred

Experience: 5-7+ years' relevant experience

Skills and Abilities:
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Payroll/Accounting/Financial Systems. Working knowledge of BI Reporting a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function and familiarity with Workday Payroll and ADP systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and relate effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and accounting, including process, procedures, internal controls, and financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Effectively communicates with senior management, peers and staff.
  • Strong team leadership skills as well as high level of customer service
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking and problem solving/guides others in problem solving.
  • Associate management skills, including developing, training and coaching team.
  • Planning and resourcing skills - optimizes resources and workflow.

Compensation Range: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00
