Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate: $74,000 - $101,000/ per year

 

Overview

 Open to Internal candidates. Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Supervisor, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base in Arnold, TN. Payroll Supervisor will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for payroll function supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

 

Job Summary

 The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.  This is a working supervisor position.

Job Duties:

 

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act fringes and changes to pay rates and taxes across multiple states and work locations.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Provide technical and analytical support of the timekeeping system, as well as provide documentation, training and operational support of the system including troubleshooting and maintenance of calculations.
  • Oversee and participate in the daily workflow of the department.
  • Communicate with the workforce and help resolve any discrepancies in pay.
  • Provides constructive and timely input for annual performance evaluations.
  • Assists in the recruitment and training of new staff in the department.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field with 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience overseeing payroll functions for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) NACI and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract and Air Force security mandates.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function includes preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with payroll software, particularly Deltek Costpoint and UKG.
  • Multistate payroll tax experience.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
