What You’ll DoThe Director, Payroll will be responsible for leading the design, development & deployment of business processes utilizing new/existing technologies. Directs a team, provides leadership and mentoring to staff to establish and maintain an effective and motivated work environment. Responsible for partnering with HR leadership for system requirements, process analysis & optimization, solution design, system configuration and data modeling.
- Provides leadership, direction, HR system expertise, and champions the resolution of issues and solution delivery.
- Direct Payroll Projects and staff to achieve HR department goals and objectives that require systems and technology related support.
- Ensures advance controls and audits are in place for data integrity, compliance with federal, state, and corporate regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and company information.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement that initiates, recommends, and leads improvement projects throughout the year to align Payroll strategies with overall business objectives working cross-functionally with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate actively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR, and other departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
- Perform, delegate, and actively manage all activities necessary to process multi-state and multi-site payroll in accordance with the company27s pay schedule.
- Act as project manager for payroll activities of all acquisitions; includes integration of newly acquired businesses and employees, set-up of new employees for accurate tax reporting and reconciliation of taxes as required by asset acquisitions.
- Oversee quarterly reconciliation and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2 and other tax forms, and other government-required documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor27s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or relatedfield, strongly preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional, strongly preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory/management experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-site environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage Payroll for a company with 2,500 plusemployees, minimum of two (2) years of experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Payroll, HRIS, and timekeeping systems, UKG strongly preferred.
