Payer Product ManagerJob CodePM.231.002FLSA StatusExemptJob FamilyProduct ManagementCost Center231Purpose of PositionTo focus on running a product (or product set) as a line of business; responsible for the entire product life cycle from inception to sunset and with all that they may entail.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions- Employs product lifecycle management which includes managing appropriate resources to meet that plan and approve detailed designs, supervises the development, and implements application user interface and web-based solutions and ensures appropriate messaging is conveyed to all functional components of the organization (e.g. Leadership, Finance, Sales, Implementation, Support).
- Coordinates activities with stakeholder departments (Senior Leadership, Product Engineering, Sales, & Marketing) to ensure new offerings include the desired capabilities & launch on time and within budget.
- Works with existing Product Managers to evaluate crossover of Payer product offerings to the provider market.
- Completes and maintains comprehensive product roadmaps based upon customer input, market analysis, and competitive intelligences.
- Defines, executes, and maintains product strategy and new feature development.
- Provides strategic product demonstrations and presentations to targeted customers and prospects.
- Acts as one of the primary product evangelists
- Develops and applies "best practice" healthcare industry knowledge to further increase product value.
- Supports periodic budget forecasting and adjustment efforts for application input on new business initiatives and support strategic corporate planning.
- Assists with training new product managers and analysts.
- Collaborates across departments on go to market strategies and work with Marketing and Sales on implementing these strategies.
- Partners with SSI's various technology teams and take ownership of defining product requirements.
- Ensures the utilization of a consistent, objective process to prioritize and select product enhancements.
- Engages customers to get the voice of the customer.
- Is the subject matter expert on the product line, competitive products, and how we compare in the market.
- Monitors emerging trends and how they shape and inform the development process and user experience.
- Embraces the SSI Playbook Framework to keep commitments, meet timelines, and delight our clients.
- Acts as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
- Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.
Marginal Functions- Assists other departments (e.g. Implementation, Support, etc.) as needed to help train, teach product function.
