Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Conduct daily safety meetings and oversee field documentation.
• Lead all aspects of asphalt paving operations on heavy highway and civil construction projects.
• Coordinate paving crews, foremen, subcontractors, trucking operations, and equipment to maximize production.
• Plan daily and weekly work activities while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Ensure paving quality, smoothness, joint construction, and compaction meet project specifications.
• Monitor production rates and adjust operations to improve efficiency.
• Work closely with Project Managers, General Superintendents, Estimators, and Owners' representatives.
• Promote and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Manage manpower, equipment utilization, and material deliveries.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact production.
• Mentor and develop foremen and future field leaders.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of heavy civil or highway construction experience with significant asphalt paving experience.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Paving Superintendent, General Foreman, or Senior Foreman.
• Strong understanding of:
o Asphalt paving operations
o Milling and paving
o Roadway reconstruction
o NYSDOT specifications
o Asphalt mix designs
o Compaction requirements
o Production scheduling
• Experience coordinating multiple paving crews and subcontractors.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience
Experience managing projects involving:
• NYSDOT highway construction
• Interstate paving
• Municipal roadway reconstruction
• Airport paving
• Commercial paving
• Milling operations
• Full-depth reconstruction
• Night work and traffic control operations

Base Salary Range:
Level Range of Pay
Superintendent I $102,000 - $120,000
Superintendent II $120,000 - $144,000
Superintendent III $144,000 - $168,000
General Superintendent $150,000 - $200,000
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
