The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the Patient Services Supervisor position at the Airway Heights Corrections Center located in Airway Heights, WA.
This position supports the Health Services and DOC mission by ensuring that the facility support operations are effective, consistent, timely and accurate. These important services are the backbone of effective clinic operations and include direct supervision of timely scheduling of patient appointments and follow-ups essential to ensure patient access and optimizing utilization of nearly 100 professional health care staff. Smooth, timely, uninterrupted patient care is an essential element of staff safety due to the highly complex and sensitive correlation between patient health concerns, timely treatment and behavioral outcomes.
DutiesSupervise and Direct Patient Services Representatives and Office Assistant support staff:- Supervise Patient Service Representatives and Office Assistant 3's, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act on leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend corrective action and/or disciplinary actions.
- Perform complex secretarial duties.
- Coordinating office operations and initiating action to ensure work unit and/or office goals are met.
- Responsible for the supervision of multiple staff members.
Health Services Operational Support: - Oversight of clinic scheduling: Assure accurate and timely scheduling of medical, dental, and mental health (onsite, offsite, and telehealth scheduling) and transcription services.
- Data management: entry and maintenance of databases; develop and decipher reports, studies or applications as needed or requested.
- Manage support resources: Ensure staff coverage on a daily basis.
- Participate in CQIP activities.
- Provide accurate, authoritative information pertaining to health services scheduling: to groups or communities (including colleagues and correctional personnel)
Audit, Track, Report, and Troubleshoot electronic and paper scheduling and appointment systems:- Research and track consult delays, pending scheduling (or queue) delays, past target dates, unresolved appointments, and pending final paperwork.
- Gather and interpret data for upload to reports, trackers when requested by management, HQ or other staff. Regular weekly trackers include Offsite tracker, Cancer tracker, GD tracker.
Other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 years' experience of increasingly responsible office experience in healthcare setting.
- 3 years' experience as a supervisor.
- Proficiency in computer skills to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with medical terminology.
- Possess advanced typing and computer software application skills.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelors' degree in a medically related or public relations field.
AND- One year's experience in a healthcare setting which includes lead responsibility.
OR- Equivalent education/experience.

- Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
