Full Job Description
The Parts Inventory Engineer will support the space program located in Pasadena, CA.

This position is assigned to the Parts Acquisition Group in JPL Component Engineering, Technology and Assurance Office (114). Responsibilities include performing inventory control and storekeeping functions - including receive, store, issue, and ship electronic parts, verify the items against paperwork during receiving process and report anomalies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform spaceflight parts inventory control and storekeeping functions.
  • Receive, store, issue and ship electronic parts, verifying items against documentation during receiving process and report anomalies.
  • Participate in physical inventory, cycle counting and verifying counts.
  • Helping resolve shortages and/or inventory problems, dispositioning, and processing scrap and excess materials.
  • Utilize Oracle Discreet Manufacturing (ODM) modules and other software applications.
  • Store and package EEE parts following JPL rules and guidelines.
  • Interface with JPL Quality Assurance (QA), customers, and auditors, and will mentor and train less experienced personnel with work assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous position in Electronic Flight Stores for aerospace and/or defense.


DESIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field desired.
  • Experience with the appropriate receipt, handling, and storage of high reliability electronic flight parts.
  • Familiarity with electronic flight part procurement numbers, manufacturers, relevant documentation.
  • Proficient with common computer tools, including database input.
  • Self-motivated, methodical, and efficient work characteristics and ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and work under high pressure.


WORK LOCATION:
  • This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.


STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

$78,500 to $115,000/yr salary, dependent on education and experience.
