Full Job Description
The Opportunity
Mosaic is seeking a Paralegal with real property experience to work out of ourNanaimo office on Vancouver Island or out of our Vancouver, British Columbia office.

The Role
Reporting to the VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, the Paralegal prepares agreements and other documents relating to the management of Mosaic's land base with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and drafting legal documents relating to various types of land use agreements, including access agreements, road use agreements, leases, licences and agreements relating to Crown tenures, easements, rights of way, subdivisions and land development;
  • Conducting legal or property-related due diligence and research, including conducting LTSA and BC Online searches, reviewing titles, documents and plans, and preparing reports;
  • Liaising with all internal and external parties involved with the agreement, transaction or interest in land, including preparation of correspondence;
  • Contributing to maintaining an efficient bring-forward and calendar system for dates and correspondence;
  • Ensuring documents, reports, research notes and correspondence are retained on the appropriate file and internal systems to ensure a central bank of knowledge; and
  • Administrative tasks as required relating to job responsibilities.


What We're Seeking:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience (preference for 7+ years) as a commercial real estate paralegal;
  • Good working knowledge of real estate terminology, contracts and forms;
  • Strong understanding of BC land title system;
  • Good working skills with applicable online databases - BC Online, LTSA, etc.;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team;
  • Highly dependable and adaptable with great work ethic; and
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to learn internal computer systems.

CompensationThe annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with geographic location, skills, relevant experience, and education.
