Full Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Maintenance Scheduler schedules all the maintenance jobs in the facilities to include PM's, scheduled work, and unscheduled outages. Collaboration with maintenance and operations is key to the success of the facility and effective communication is must. Manages KPI's and provide monthly status reports against the Maintenance Work Process. Works closely with other SI affiliates ensuring there are no SIMOPS issues for successful outages. Responsible for collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and Warehouse for maintenance activities ensuring the work scheduled to be performed is accurate and completed in an acceptable time frame.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads development of advanced maintenance strategies to improve reliability.
  • Analyzes historical data to optimize preventive programs and reduce failures.
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams for complex maintenance projects.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives to reduce maintenance costs.
  • Reviews compliance with safety and environmental regulations in planning processes.
  • Negotiates with vendors for critical materials and services.
  • Provides guidance on system enhancements and data integrity.
  • Advises leadership on resource allocation for major maintenance initiatives.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, work orders, and schedules, considering regulatory compliance, safety standards, and operational needs.
  • Partners with warehousing and procurement to ensure critical spare parts, specialized tools, and external services are staged before scheduling jobs.
  • Plan and build time-impact schedules for major plant down-days, turnarounds, and emergency break-in work.
  • Resource and Capacity Planning to Calculate total estimated labor hours against available craft hours to ensure the schedule is loaded to optimal capacity without overextending crews
  • Ensure daily continuous improvement techniques are being applied through routine meeting cadences. Responsible for driving day on day improvements on how we plan and schedule as well as improving our maintenance work practices.
  • Track and analyze maintenance activities, identify areas for improvement, and develop KPIs to measure performance.
  • Monitor and report on core metrics including schedule compliance, backlog size and preventative maintenance (PM) adherence.
  • Drive the optimization of work planning, scheduling and use of the SAP system in conjunction with the Continuous Improvement Lead.
  • Prioritize work orders based on the work to be performed and the associated risk. Ensures accurate, achievable completion dates are a key focus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education
  • Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience
  • Required: Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with Scheduling/ Planning in SAP.
  • 5+ years' experience with P6 Scheduling.
  • 10+ years' experience in Industrial Scheduling.
  • 5+ years' experience in related Scheduling roles using CMMS SAP system.
  • 5+ years of PM/ CM maintenance in oil and gas industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Possess extensive knowledge in implementing best practices in scheduling, and maintenance.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of SAP(S/4HANA).
  • Possess analytical thinking and ability to utilize concise data and information while working through problems and implementing solutions.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PPT, to convey information with clarity through presentations and reports.
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple complex issues and work independently.
  • Possess the ability to tie logic in plans for scheduling.
  • Understanding logistics for maintenance work.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills to align conflicting priorities between maintenance and operations. Able to facilitate schedule update meetings.
  • Understanding of the maintenance work management process and systems.
