Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct and manage all day-to-day Packaging operations including safety, quality, regulatory compliance, service, production, training, development, inventory, waste management and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all safety KPI's are met or exceeded
  • Ensure that schedules for all packaging lines are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and reduce the need for overtime.
  • Make sure all lines and department meets OEE goals and expectations
  • Ensure lean manufacturing techniques are applied, used and followed
  • Ensure line standards regarding labor and speed are always met or exceeded.
  • Ensure all finished goods are produced without quality incidents or concerns.
  • Ensure all packaging lines start and stop per scheduled requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure unit waste is at or below department goals.
  • Develop and maintain an effective, high morale work force with adequately trained replacements.
  • Ensures adequate technology and capacity.
  • Ensures packaging and testing equipment is maintained in sound operating condition.
  • Coordinate projects with other departments as needed. This includes, Safety, scheduling, quality, business improvement, engineering, purchasing, warehouse, customers, and suppliers.
  • Assure all line leads are cross trained across the floor.
  • Assure the development of all production associates and provide a clear path to career advancement.
  • Provide guidance and support direct reports.


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in business, operations or engineering
  • 3+ years production or packaging experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment including assembly line and filling (liquid, dry, or powder).
  • Lean manufacturing experience with proven results
  • Experience leading, engaging and developing people
  • Must be able to effectively communicate including written/verbal and effective listening skills.
  • Must have proven experience leading process changes and improvements
  • Experience leading operations across multiple shifts
  • Understand and have experience using KPI's to measure and monitor packaging floor performance.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo.
  • Must be able to make fact-based decisions and think strategically.
  • Must be able to lead / influence team in the development and implementation of business objectives.
  • Must be able to analyze data and have operational understanding to identify, prevent, and solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects at one time.
