Full Job Description
As an important member of the Medical Intensive Care multidisciplinary team, you would be diagnosing and treating medically complex patients. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population

Responsible for managing critically ill patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of selected protocols/procedures. Provides educational support for patients/significant others, health team members and the community and coordinates. Complete H&P, consults, admissions, rounding and procedures.

  • Multidisciplinary rounds
  • Admissions
  • Consults
  • Procedures (arterial lines, central lines, intubations, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar punctures, dialysis catheters)
  • Code response team
  • Care conferences (Palliative or end of life)


Hours Worked:
  • 7 - 12 hour shifts every two weeks.
  • Every other weekend
  • Night shifts 6p-6a
  • Swing shifts 4p-12a

Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner:
  • Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master's, post-master's or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
  • 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)


Physician Assistant:
  • Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
  • LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan
  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
